My philosophy

I believe training should improve a dog's life, not just their obedience.

Behaviour

I don't just look at what a dog does - I look at why they do it. Every behaviour has a reason, whether it's excitement, frustration, fear, stress, or simply unmet needs. Behaviour is communication, and emotions always come before actions. Instead of suppressing behaviours, I aim to understand them and help dogs feel better.

When we change how a dog feels, their behaviour often changes naturally.

Enrichment

Enrichment is more than food toys and puzzle games. It's about meeting a dog's natural needs by providing opportunities to explore, sniff, forage, move, make choices, rest, and engage with the world in ways that matter to them. A fulfilled dog is not only happier but better equipped to cope with everyday life.

Communication

Dogs are always communicating. The question is whether we're listening.
Training is a conversation, not a monologue. Dogs communicate through body language, behaviour, and emotions every moment of the day.

By learning to listen as well as teach, we build trust, confidence, and a relationship where both dog and human can thrive.

Welfare

A dog's wellbeing is never the price of good training.
